A moment to change our attitudes.

Last week I was sitting with a Jamaican man who has taken the Swahili name Sababu. We were having one of those ‘putting the world to rights’ conversations spanning many topics. I was hooked on his wisdom, and then we went down the rabbit hole of the state of politics.

Suddenly he said, ‘ I need to remember that my life would be a whole lot simpler if I stopped trying to make sense of what other people do’.

It landed for me like a pearl of wisdom.

There are situations in my life and in the world around me where I experience incredulity and disbelief at the decisions and subsequent actions I see people taking, so I really get the importance of switching off the mind that demands a rational answer and engaging the heart in openness to the richness and diversity of the human race.

Maria’s Mindfulness Moment

This last year when the world changed at such speed, I practiced ‘extreme’ letting go. The more I let go, the more joy I find. Of course, this does not mean giving up, or abandoning my values. It means there are many ways to uphold our values and pursue our purpose without imposing it on others.

The Wednesday Whisper

What crazy path have you observed in yourself or others that could benefit from letting go of trying to understand it? When in your life did you wish others would just allow you to be?

Would you like to train as a DRM Facilitator? Would you like to join our team? Can you invest in your own future?

As more people are searching for the type of service we offer, we are putting together a team of professional practitioners who can be part of a trusted network. If this sounds like something you could see yourself doing, get in touch.

We want to create a small network of practitioners who are consciously aware of themselves and others and have the capacity to balance that with sound, professional business skills.
