How would you like to treat yourself?

Many people I speak to find it really easy to be in service of others and find it very difficult to be in service of their self. The most obvious example of this is the personal ‘to do’ list. I can easily foil a person’s unconscious plan to make their own life less wonderful by asking a really simple question:

‘Would you give that ‘to do’ list to anyone else and expect them to feel it is a reasonable ask?’ Not surprisingly the answer is usually ‘No’.

And then, as January seems to have slipped away, I ask myself the same question.

Maria’s Midweek Mindfulness

Some time ago, Marshall Rosenberg said ‘Only do something if you can do it with the joy of a small child feeding a hungry duck’. This is the most important measurement I use in my life. Remembering to use it always changes the landscape.

The Wednesday Whisper

What does your ‘to do’ list look like and can you do each task with the joy of a small child feeding a hungry duck?
